F.A.Q
Who takes the pictures on ‘city chic’?
There is a pretty even mixture of media on my blog, with many of the photographs taken and credited from my favorite websites like Flickr, Pinterest, We Heart it and my Tumblr dashboard. If you don’t see a credit, click-through link or source provided, it’s safe to assume that I’ve taken the photograph myself.
Do you mind if I re-blog or use your San Francisco pictures on my blog?
Not at all. The reason that I’m so motivated to take pictures of things that I see is because despite the harrowing news reports and upsetting stories that we all hear regularly, I like to believe that there is still beauty everywhere. From a single piece of cake to a beautiful patch of wildflowers or a fun event I attend, I like to find and express the happiness in ‘little things’ that I see and do everyday. All I ask is that you provide credit for whichever image/s you use. :)
What kind of camera and lenses do you use?
I shoot most of my pictures with a Canon Digital Rebel. Some of the less than stellar photographs you see on ‘city chic’ are taken with my Android phone.
I noticed that you don’t talk about beauty like a lot of other bloggers. Do you not wear make-up?
Well…the truth is, I’m not a big make-up fan at all. I don’t like the heavy, cakey feeling, I don’t like getting it on my camera, my phone, shirt collars or pillow cases, and I don’t like the process of scrubbing it off! However, I rely on a few key products to freshen up in the each morning, and I’m always sure to drink a lot of water & utilize SPF for good skin care. For more on my 10 minute morning, check out my guest blog post for stila cosmetics.
Did you really just pack your car and move from the East Coast to California with no job and no plan? That sounds like a movie!
Yes - it’s true, I did. After spending the first 21 years of my life in New Hampshire (with a short-lived stint in Rhode Island) I decided that I needed a change. I completed a semester of college in Monterey in 2007 and fell in love with the temperate climate and gorgeous scenery of the central coast. Once I graduated from college, I hit the road and haven’t looked back since. I spent two years in Monterey/Carmel, and moved to San Francisco at the beginning of 2011. It’s been a lot of fun!
While I still can’t believe that people find me to be interesting, I love to hear from anyone who reads or enjoys ‘city chic’. Please do drop me an e-mail or tweet me. I would absolutely love to hear from you! ♥
